I, unfortunately, witnessed a horrible accident today.
Fortunately, the person in the accident lived and might only have a few minor injuries. So, that’s at least one good thing about the situation. But let me just tell you that this was not a pleasant thing to see. And that the world would be a better place if things like this never happened. Or at least if I never saw them happen.
People have come to need a life without any pain. Myself included. We know that pain usually hinders survival, and that survival, being our most rudimentary instinct, has forced us to find and/or create ways to eliminate all types of pain from our lives. This includes emotional, mental and physical pain.
Pain is unpleasant. But on the contrary, pain, as in the car accident I saw earlier, is sometimes fun to watch on TV. Which is weird no doubt. However, to witness someone involuntarily experiencing some brutal, physically painful harm, in real life, is really awful.
The accident earlier was between a car and a motorcycle. Basically, I saw the car crash into the motorcycle and its driver, and proceed to run them both over, and also kind of drag them underneath the car and then stop.
My point here is that I don’t think I could live my life in a world at war, where we Americans are inflicting pain on others. There simply is not any reason why we should stay at war in Iraq, or Afghanistan, etc. Innocent people are getting hurt, in really brutal ways, as in most wars. It’s just not fair. I think that is my argument here.
